The past few weeks have been some of the busiest in my life. But I thought I’d give a couple of updates. I’ll be back to regular posting very soon. I just want to be sure I have the time and mental energy to put out something worthwhile. In fact, why don’t you all let me know what you’d like to read about next? Here are a few things I’ve been thinking about/toying with writing about.
The Boodega: A Mysterious Convenience Store
Last week, I opened a brick & mortar store in downtown Eureka Springs called The Boodega.

Downtown Eureka Springs needed a convenience store, and I didn’t want to run a regular convenience store. So I essentially made a mysterious shop with cryptid, UFO, paranormal, and horror themes that also sells beer, snacks, and cigarettes.
In other words, if the X-Files had a convenience store, it would be The Boodega.
Audiobook Recording
I also started recording my audiobook this week. It’s cool to be in the studio and working with super fancy audio equipment, but it is way less glamorous than it sounds (no pun intended). Turns out, recording an audiobook is g r u e l i n g.
That being said, don’t let 3 full days of recording go to waste! If you’re an audiobook person, please go ahead and pre-order the audiobook! Which takes me to my next point…
Final B&N Sale on Pre-orders!
Barnes and Noble is running what is likely the final sale on forthcoming Fall titles. This means it’s your last chance to grab Morbidly Curious for its lowest price this year. You can get 25% off the physical book and ebook using code PREORDER25. (Audiobook here).
This means you’d get your physical copy of Morbidly Curious for just $14.25 or the ebook for only $10.50. You do have to sign up for the free B&N rewards program, but that’s definitely worth the savings.
The sale ends Friday, September 5th, so don’t miss it!
Also, I’m still offering 3 free months to the paid version of my Substack for every pre-order ($18 value). Just send a screenshot of your pre-order receipt or confirmation to MorbidlyCuriousBook@gmail.com.
Book Tour Updates
I’ve added an NYC stop to my book tour. I’ll be at The Twisted Spine, a new horror-themed bookstore, on November 12. I have several friends who live in NYC, so it would be great to see some of you while I’m there. I may also add another talk or two that week and stay a few days. If you have any cool bookstore recommendations in the NYC area, let me know
I appreciate the patience with new posts during this crazy busy time. I’ll try to do some double-time on posting once things calm down a bit to make up for it.
